Sunscreen and your skin

Sunscreen and Your Skin

Applying sunscreen on your skin is as important as any other ritual you do every time you go out. Sunscreen protects the skin from harmful rays of the sun but do you really need protection? The short answer is yes. You need sunscreen during the day –yep, even if it is cloudy outside because the harmful rays of the sun can cause irritation, sunburn, and even cancer.

Experts from Medical Spa Oceanview said, “Remember to protect your face and body from the sun’s harmful rays. Wear your sunscreen daily! Did you know that SPF 60 means that when you’re out in the sun, you should be reapplying every 60 minutes, especially if you are perspiring or are in the water? Sun damage is the number one cause of premature aging and even skin cancer. Sunscreen and Your Skin“I would like to use sunscreen daily but it is too expensive!”

One of my friends said this the other day so I sent her a few links on how she can make her own sunscreen. Cool right?

Hold your horses, I will post the ingredients soon enough.  The question is, why would you want to make your own sunscreen? Aside from saving a few bucks, making your own sunscreen is ensuring that your sunscreen does not contain toxins or chemicals. Here is a good recipe for natural homemade sunscreen:

You would need 2 tablespoons of Zinc Oxide to make natural sun protection. Ensure that you do not inhale this powder while you are mixing your sunscreen. Add half a cup of almond oil or olive oil to the powder followed by ¼ cup of coconut oil and ¼ cup of beeswax. Coconut oil has a natural SPF of 4. You can also add Vitamin E oil, Shea Butter and essential oils such as vanilla extract if desired.
