How to Prevent Wrinkles

by Sig February 28, 2010 22:35

There are many skin care products out there that prevent orlessen the lines in your face but if you are still young and still have thatsupple skin, there is no need to use these products just yet. However, if youwant to prevent wrinkles you should live a healthier lifestyle.

Smoking & Vitamin C

The first thing you should do is to quit smoking. If you donot smoke then you are in the right track. In case you just can’t get rid ofthis habit, it is advisable for you to get at least 50 grams of vitamin C everyday to keep your skin healthy. The skin needs nutrients too so your best bet isto give your skin the nutrients it needs from the inside. But how does smokingaffect the skin? Smoking inhibits the production of collagen and collagen iswhat makes our skin elastic. Over time, we lost our skin’s elasticity and thisresult to getting wrinkles.

Water

Drinking lots of water will keep your skin hydrated makingyour skin supple and young looking. Apart from keeping your skin healthy, drinking water makes your body healthy too.

Stay Out of the Sun

Staying out of the sun is a good thing especially in thehottest hours of the day. However, if you are a sun worshipper and just can’tstop basking in the sun, you should put suntan lotion to protect your skin. Thepeak hours for sunlight are from 10 in the morning to 3:30 in the afternoon sotry to avoid the sun during those hours of the day to avoid getting wrinkles.

New Wrinkle Filler MDF-100

by Catherine February 24, 2010 05:25

Looks like there is a new wrinkle filler on the horizon, and this one is longer lasting. Merz Pharmaceuticals and Fredric Brandt, a dermatologist in New York City, are developing an algie based wrinkle filler that may last up to 12 months—which is comparable to hyaluronic acid fillers like Restylane and Juvéderm, which last six months or more. Called MDF-100, it may also cause less swelling than those fillers. Currently the clinical trials of MDF-100 are awaiting FDA approval. The approval could take over two years, so stay tuned.

Clarisonic Opal Sonic Infusion

by Catherine February 21, 2010 06:18

The Clarisonic Opal Sonic Infusion is the newest gadget in skin care. It is designed to treat puffiness and wrinkles under the eyes. The gadget whirls at 125 times per second to massage in an eye serum stored within the device. One or two presses of the top button delivers a pea sized amount of product recommended for both eyes. The serum plumps lines immediatly with firming peptides and hydrating trehalose ( a sugar). The device has a soft concave tip that pulsates for 30 seconds as it pumps the serum into the skin. The pulsating stimulates lymphatic drainage which decreases puffiness. The device runs for a preset period of time. $245 at Clairisonic.

Dr. Hauschka Radiant You Skincare

by Catherine January 29, 2010 04:52

Dr. Hauschka Radiant You Skincare is a holistic line that is made from plant based remedies. It has a huge celebrity following, from Madonna to Jennifer Aniston and J. Lo, and we know how fabulous their skin looks. I know...I'm sure they spend thousands on laser treatments and peels, but it gives the line a bit of credibility if the most beautiful use it. The all natural remedies aren't cheap however. The line runs from $35 for toner to $90 for creams and serums.

The company is organizing a new movement like Avon and Mary Kay, getting women to host "Radiant You" parties, where every guest will get free samples in the hopes that the host can secure some sales from the party. The host then gets a portion of the sales. The samples are free if you record the party and put the video on You Tube, otherwise it will cost the host $6.99 per sample. I assume they refund your money once the You Tube video is up in order for the samples to be free.

If you want to get the products but skip the parties, buy Dr.Hauschka Skin Care through drugstore.com.

Skin Derma Roller

by Catherine January 27, 2010 05:32

I think it looks a bit painful, but apparently the skin derma roller can bring about a flawless complexion. There have been rumors that it is Angelina Jolie's secret to to her beautiful skin. It is a small hand held device, covered with tiny steel spikes, sharp, but not quite needles. You roll it over your skin, causing trauma to the epidermis and stimulating the repair process, thus boosting collagen production for a coveted youthful glow. The theory is the same behind lasers, which do work miracles. I would know, I swear by laser facials. The derma roller is safe for all skin types. Here are claimed results:

  • Scar Removal – including acne scar removal / treatment
  • Stretch Mark Removal / Treatment
  • Anti Ageing
  • Anti Wrinkle
  • Cellulite Treatment / Cellulite Reduction or Removal
  • Hair Loss Treatment / Hair Restoration
  • Hyper Pigmentation Treatment
  • The derma rollers cost between $75 and $85, depending on 'needle' length.
